No, I don’t have a flashlight problem…

This is my Skilhunt H03 – it’s marketed as a headlamp, but fundamentally it’s just a right-angle light, and helpfully it comes with a clip as well. I use the clip primarily just to keep it accessible, but also to clip in to my radio strap or on to my shirt at work for hands-free use.

The other useful feature of the Skilhunt is its magnetic tailcap. This also allows for hands-free use, and would be a useful feature in a light that one keeps in a vehicle, for example.

It uses an 18650 battery just like the previous light I reviewed, and can also use CR123A batteries, which for those of you who work for a public agency or the military may find easier to acquire than 18650s and a reliable charging source.

The H03 is nice and bright, and it’s IPX8 rated against water ingress, which is important in my kind of work. That, plus the hands-free usage options, plus its wide angle beam, really makes it a killer solution for my needs, and it might be useful for yours as well.

That’s really the high points of this light – it’s nothing crazy or wild, and the user interface isn’t quite as robust as the last light, but it’s pretty simple to use and to lockout (just long press the button from “off”, and the little red LED under the button is all that will turn on if the button gets bumped in your pocket).

I did notice while perusing the Amazon page linked above, there appear to be some interesting model options available now too, though I have no specific knowledge of the other models.

That’s all for this one, until next time.
