To start, we have a gear and equipment company based in the American Southwest – Tested Best Products. We were able to sit down with Kirk Havermahl, the President of Tested Best, and chat with him a bit.
The gist of Tested Best is in their name – they describe a philosophy of taking gear into the field, putting it to work, and only then deciding whether or not to sell it. I’m a big fan of this approach, which is a big part of why I decided to start my company spotlight series with them!
Hey Kirk, thanks for taking the time to talk with us today – for starters, could you tell us a bit about how you got started with Tested Best Products?
Sure! Basically, I wanted to be able to bring all of the good stuff I’d used for my over 40 years as an outdoorsman (hiking, hunting, kayaking, rock climbing, etc) to the masses, at prices people can afford.
What differentiates you from any other distributor or dealer? Why should our readers buy from you instead of anybody else?
Well, like I mentioned, our pricing is competitive, but more importantly, we test everything we sell before we sell it – we take extra care to thoroughly test any life-saving equipment we sell, such as body armor. I’m not aware of anyone else who makes that kind of a commitment to their customers.
Do you have any exciting promotions or sales coming up you’d like to share with our readers?
Actually, I do! We had a great, productive time at SHOT show this year – this coming year will be full of new products from folks like Viktos, Wilder Tactical, Spartan Body Armor and Premier Body Armor. I think it’s going to be a great year as we add all these companies to our lineup.
