Vertx Ready Pack 2.0 Update

So, as a card-carrying member of the illustrious tradition that is the US fire service, I am proud to report I finally broke something on my Vertx bag.

Our reputation for breaking things is not undeserved; in fact, there’s even a joke that alludes to it in a particularly hilarious way:

Put a fireman in a room with 3 steel balls, lock the door and come back in 3 hours. When you return, one will be missing, one will be broken, and the other one will be pregnant.

At any rate, it was emphatically not the fault of the bag. I’ve been doing some rooftop photography lately (see the leader image for an example), and I’ve been pretty rough on the bag. My roughness, coupled with my tendency to stuff the bag completely to the gills, and with the help of some abrasion from a rooftop stairway, resulted in a small hole.

The hole is on the far left side of the gray portion, in the middle of the rust mark. It’s itty-bitty.

Overall, it’s a bit dirty and, yes, has a tiny hole, but I’m still very much pleased with this bag.

That’s all for now, but keep an eye out for further follow-ups as time progresses.
