Budget Shank – Part Deux

Just a quick update to my review of No One Coming’s Budget Shank.

I’ve been carrying it pretty regularly lately, and I have to say I’m impressed. It’s by far the lightest part of my EDC, and it’s impressed me by its versatility and general comfort of carry.

Yeah, I’m furry. Deal with it.

As much as we all like to pretend we carry a battle belt with 500 rounds of ammo, a full ALS med bag and six knives, the fact of the matter is the more lightweight and unobtrusive our carry is, the more likely we are to actually carry it.

In this regard particularly, the Budget Shank excels – it’s so light it basically disappears on the belt.

The clip doesn’t initially appear to be terribly strong, but it’s actually very functional, allowing for a clean draw without issue, and allowing for a bit of pivot without compromising its effectiveness.

I’m a big fan of this knife, and look forward to possibly buying another as a neck knife in the near future; I think this has lots of potential for people in scrubs, workout clothes or the like, where you don’t want a heavy steel blade causing weird bumps or pulling things down at inopportune times.

Finally, I have it on good authority that they are in stock when this review drops (June 18), so go pick one up!
